RWB Adria Takes State Cup Championship
WHEELING, ILLINOIS (AUGUST 25, 2016) – On Wednesday, August 24, 2016 RWB Adria went up to Wheeling to take on the Lightning in the 2016 Illinois State Cup Championship. In the first 10 minutes Adria took a lead with a goal by Tyler which was shortly after followed by another goal by Huffman to take a 2:0 lead. Right before half the Lightning managed to squeeze one passed Adria’s keeper Sliwa leaving the game 2:1 at the midpoint.
In the second half, Monteon and Bond both put in two early goals leaving the Lightning trailing behind 4:1. Both would each put another goal in to put RWB Adria at a strong 6:1 lead. Gurson put one more in passed the Lightning giving RWB Adria the 7:1 win for the 2016 State Cup Championship.
