RECAP: Adria takes down Grand Rapids Ole 4:0
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (June 7, 2016) – Red White Blue Adria Chicago hosted Grand Rapids Ole this Saturday at Triton College in Adria’s 4th game of the Premier League of America 2016 Season. This was a meet of the top and the bottom of the PLA East Division table but Grand Rapids Ole kept a good pace in the first half against a well-tuned Adria side. The first half was marked by a few chances from both sides but was scoreless.
In the second half, Adria’s scoring started off from a set piece taken by Grbesa giving Adria the 1:0 lead. In a later play a solid through ball by Jelicic set Gadzo up to hammer one in past Ole’s keeper making it 2:0 for Adria. RWB Adria coach Sinisa Alebic decided to reset the formation taking out Grbesa for Rashid.
Shortly after another Adria goal was put in by Alvarez who has been showing an imense presence in Adria’s midfield. Nearing the end of regulation time with Adria leading 3:0, a cross by Rashid was beautifully headed into Ole’s goal by Jelicic. The final score at 90′ was 4:0 for RWB Adria.
This upcoming weekend RWB Adria will be headed up to Saginaw, Michigan for Regional Championships from June 10-12 and will not have any Premier League of America matches. The next PLA match for RWB Adria will be on June 18th on the road against Carpathia FC. Also, RWB Adria would like to congratulate Derek Huffman and Ermin Gadzo on their PLA “Player of the Week” status!
